What SERIAL PORT MONITOR’s сustomers say
I Was Looking For A Better SPM. Eltima’s Serial Port Monitor Was The Best!
At the moment, I have been using the Eltima Serial Port Monitor to analyze diagnostic data from one of the projects I’m working on. One of my favorite features is the capability of easily saving messages to use later on as their own .spm file format.
I think this easy to install and UI-friendly software is absolutely great for anyone developing applications that require huge amounts of information to be flowing into a serial port. I’m currently using the 7.0 version, and it’s been working great so far.
I’m able to easily hover over the “Terminal View” in the “View” drop-down menu, letting me see the details of everything that is being communicated through the serial port. I think it’s really cool how Eltima’s Serial Port Monitor doesn’t have to block the serial port while it’s being used. This is helpful, as it allows for other softwares the capability to “block” the port, and you can still analyze the data no problem.
I’m very impressed with the quality that Eltima has provided in this product, and I strongly recommend it for any embedded system engineers looking to make their work-flow easier and more efficient.
I tried a lot of different serial port monitoring software, but Serial Port Monitor is the only one that is consistently reliable, and has a UI that doesn’t drive me crazy. I really like SPM.
Serial Port Monitor Helped With My Embedded UART Serial Ports
As the curator and writer for Benedikt’s Workspace, I decided I would share my thoughts on using Eltima’s Serial Port Monitoring software in order to embed UART devices. I decided to try Eltima’s SPM when I realized that I needed excellent time and format analysis, and I had been unable to find it through other serial ports such as PuTTY and Termite.
I used a Linux-powered security camera to test out the software. After some hardware modifications to make sure that I had located and measured the appropriate serial port pins, I fired up the Serial Port Monitor and created a new session to test the COM ports.
One of my favorite features was that Eltima’s Serial Port Monitor allowed for setting up multiple display parameters and the serial port to be used.
All in all, Eltima’s Serial Port Monitor worked great and was packed with functions and features that I know I’ll be using often in my future projects. The software is intuitive without being distracting and really feels like there’s no end to its usefulness considering it’s such a small 15 MB-worth of disk space.
If you’ve ever struggled with identifying and connecting serial ports, or just looking for a tool to help make the whole process easier, then I strongly recommend the Serial Port Monitor by Eltima.
A handy and efficient app
Serial Port Monitor has been very helpful when developing and testing software for hardware. It was a huge help tracing communication between my PC and the mobile device I was working on
Perfect tool for my needs
I needed a reliable and feature-rich SPM to monitor the data streaming between three various apps that needed to function in synchrony. Serial Port Monitor was perfect for my needs.
